For the fourth episode of Taste Talks Studio, I had the honor of talking with Dr. Jacobson, the founder of the National Food Museum. Dr. Jacbson holds a PhD in microbiology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Before starting the museum, he co-founded and led the Center for Science in Public Interest.
In this episode, we explored the key sectors essential for bringing the National Food Museum to fruition: funding, innovation, and community engagement. Dr. Jacobson emphasizes the importance of discovering innovations within the food sector, aiming to showcase potential improvements while ensuring the experience is enjoyable for all age groups. Building a community that can engage with and appreciate the museum is also crucial. Additionally, securing funding plays a significant role in achieving this vision.
In addition to his ambitions and ongoing projects for the museum, we also talked about the significant issues within the nutrition industry and the ways food activists can contribute to meaningful change. From establishing community gardens to putting up informative bulletin boards, there are numerous opportunities for improvement in nutrition.
